BAR BIERI
A Brooklyn institution since 1925, Barbieri Barber Shop blends old-school charm with a hidden history, it’s not just a barbershop, but also a speakeasy born in the Prohibition era. The brand needed a visual identity that honored its legacy while cleverly concealing its secret past.
I designed a logo and branding system that mirrors 1920s signage, using subtle double meanings to capture the dual nature of the space. The upside-down B’s in the wordmark hint at the bar below, while the extended crossbars break the family name into “Bar” and “Bieri.” Every design detail works in harmony to preserve the mystery while celebrating the shop’s rich heritage.
